Football has now become the "Number One Sport in the World"; when high-level sporting competitions are held, they consistently attract football enthusiasts from all over the globe to participate. In 1992, China established a professional development path for football and implemented a corresponding competitive system. However, while football is widely popular worldwide, the level of football sports in China remained relatively low for many years, with the country suffering consecutive defeats in international competitions. To reverse this unfavorable development trend in Chinese football, China has undertaken comprehensive reforms in football, achieving certain results—including qualifying for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Nevertheless, overall, the level of football in China has consistently remained relatively low. In recent years, the Chinese government has continuously increased its emphasis on football sports. In 2015, China proposed the "Overall Plan for Football Reform in China," aimed at promoting the development and improvement of football sports in China, which undoubtedly greatly propelled the development and rise of football sports in China.
